I have to say that I think this is going too far. Before saying anything
else, I do want to say how much I and others appreciate this list, and
the fact that it is well managed, and probably the only medium-high
volume list I read most posts on. So - by and large, an excellent job by
the people at Minoru. I also recognise and appreciate the efforts that
Dave and others make to keep the list fairly clean and close to its
intended purpose, something which cannot be said of many other lists or
newsgroups.

However....I do see it as a problem if discussion of some subjects is
curtailed in a way which borders on censoring not because they are
irrelevant (office suites are probably quite relevant to the clinical
environments built and used by some people) but because they fail to
completely satisfy the ideal of open source. There is often a gap
between the ideal, and what someone can realistically put together as an
environment for their users at any point in time. I don't think it is
correct that discussion of such tools or environments should be
prevented if they are useful or relevant to what people are developing
out there.

If the discussions of the tool are just considered uninteresting or
irrelevant, then fair enough.
