I have the device on my desk.
I've been looking at a label printer, which I have now sorted out, and
my minimal serial/Python knowledge is increased thereby, and at password
handling in a particular system, th esoftware for whch shows plausible
promise and is released.

What I believe would usefully simplify the market and future tasks would
be to define an intermediat format, layer and possibly software that
were sufficiently useful that any effort to not use them would be
visibly an effort to prevetn interoperation.
