It would have been most unfair to charge anything to have OSCAR validated in
Ontario. It is the only really top class FOSS Canadian EMR!

The OntarioMD Certification (or Validation as it is
now called) was free when we subject OSCAR through the
 process last summer
 (http://www.ontariomd.com/en/services/cycle3.jsp). But
we were clearly told that any future certification
cost will be covered by the "vendors". For example,
all vendor products will likely be required to pass
conformance testing to connect to OLIS
 (http://secure.cihi.ca/cihiweb/en/downloads/partner_conf_jun2002_e_gpaskiw.pdf
when it is rolled out this year. I have no idea how
much it will cost - it won't be cheap.
