Just as a proof of concept I accessed ClearHealth's demo from within the Second Life Client. While ClearHealth is not really "in-world" it can be used as an adjunct to the experience.
I have a post up on my blog about it: http://tinyurl.com/239tzu There are a number of healthcare training and educational simulations within Second Life, most associated with various colleges. I think this sort of thing can make the simulations more real, and give folks a great way to learn about medical software. FOSS Medical software is well positioned to help in this area. Trainers need not worry about licenses and the community does not try to hide their software.
