Hi Philippe:

Try LOINC (Logical Observation Identifier Names and Codes)

    http://loinc.org/

LOINC has codes for a fully specified LOINC term that pre-coordinates
the following major axes for a laboratory derived observation:

- Component (test name/analyte) such as "Sodium"
- Property measured (e.g. mass concentration)
- Timing (e.g. a point in time, a 24-hour collection, etc.)
- System or Sample type (e.g. blood, serum, cerebrospinal fluid,
urine, etc.)
- Scale (e.g. quantitative [12.4], ordinal [1+, 2+, 3+], nominal,
narrative, etc.
- Method (e.g. enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, IFA, PCR, etc.) -
but is optional

When you say GP practice, are you referring to point-of-care testing
using table top test instruments in the clinic or disposable kits or
handheld devices?
