I must have missed this in all the discussions about certification. According to this site: http://www.athenahealth.com/hitech.php starting in 2011 physicians ( is this every individual or just groups acting a single entity?) can get $43,000 incentive payment for using a CCHIT EHR system. Subsumed within certification is meaningful use, which this site already says includes e-prescribing plus whatever Halamka's group has come up with).
So, these incentive payments are going to help drive the market forward.
