When updating (and failing) to a newer kernel (ticket outstanding) I
noticed that there appears to be another possible problem.

When I am busy doing nothing in particular on the laptop (although
strangely if I am actually doing nothing for hours this doesn't appear
to happen) the hard disk suddenly stops (I hear the power down), and
Disk IO goes wild (Hard disk activity icon on the laptop goes
constantly on)

the message I'm receiving is along the lines of:

ahci0: watchdog port0 satapkt 0xffffff01f219a298 timed out

unfortunately this is the main/only hard disk and when it happens I
only have the commands that are cached in memory (I've taken to
tailing log files in a window so I can see the output when this
happens)

It can happen twice a day, or not at all, although I've not taken to
not saying it too much because they use mostly Ubuntu.

Jon
