Sure. It's in the USB device filters of my VM. VBox sees there's a
printer, no problem. But WinXP guest does not detect any...
Just in case it is a VBox problem - what user are you running as?
For non-roots you need to add users to the vboxguest group so they
have access to the VBox Filter drivers (for USB, maybe for advanced
networking, etc.)
As for CUPS, I've had limited experience with it; I know that beside
standard (packaged with CUPS) drivers, there are also projects like
foomatic and Gutenprint which provide additional drivers, and CUPS
allows to use them. You might try to see if that helps. However,
the first few google hits discuss that there are no drivers specific
for MP230 as it is a very recent model...
