The 4 TB Constellation ES.3 is 512b native sectors. If you want 4K sectors on it you can override in /kernel/drv/sd.conf. The drive will still be 512b, but ZFS will use ashift=12 when configuring.
This is working for me on pool built with these drives. I have had very good experience with Seagate Constellations. -Chip On Tue, Jul 30, 2013 at 7:18 AM, Geoff Nordli <[email protected]> wrote: > > I am looking at building a new pool with 4KB sectors. > > Does the ST4000NM0023 Constellation ES.3 4TB SAS drive work properly? > > Any other suggestions for a 4TB SAS drive? > > thanks, > > Geoff > > ______________________________**_________________ > OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list > OpenIndiana-discuss@**openindiana.org<[email protected]> > http://openindiana.org/**mailman/listinfo/openindiana-**discuss<http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss> > _______________________________________________ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
