Hmmm... I thought the original post was by Ben, being willing to offer a stack of recommissioned Sparc hardware under the condition that it would be actively used for the Sparc port. So, if you would offer Martin online access to that hardware to get forward with OpenSXCE, it would at least help *one* Sparc port. And as Martin's work is open source, it could be used as a nucleus for OI/SPARC and thus get one step closer to b). No?
