One option might be an x in y drive bay that slides into the top forward facing builtin drive bay. (Where x > y.) These are available in both hot and non-hot swapping versions. They use fan(s) forcing air over the drives to keep the temps down. Search on "drive bays" or "drive cage" to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
