It would be a possibility but not in this case:

root@koula:~# beadm create kitsos
Created successfully
root@koula:~# beadm mount kitsos /mnt
Mounted successfully on: '/mnt'
root@koula:~# pkg -R /mnt change-facet
facet.require.consolidation/userland/userland-incorporation=false
Variants/Facets to change: 1

Updating package state database                 Done
Updating package cache                           0/0
Updating image state                            Done
Creating fast lookup database                   Done
root@koula:~# pkg -R /mnt uninstall userland-incorporation

pkg uninstall: 'userland-incorporation' matches no installed packages
From now everything goes as it should but the end result are TWO (2) non-usable
BE. The old one and the new one. But I just wonder why don'tyou make available
an ISO that we can test WITHOUT the risk to destroyanything? And when I say
"you" I mean the team. I wanted to test thenew bits on machines that run Intel,
NVIDIA, and ATI RADEON gpus now I cannot test anything.
