Hi, and thanks for your help

I have an Openindiana guest in virtualbox that is stuck at a resolution of 800x600, regardless of any steps I take.

I have added a higher mode for the VM on the command-line: C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox>VBoxManage.exe setextradata OI-2021 CustomVideoMode1 1920x1080x16

I have installed the guest additions from the repository:  sudo pkg install -v pkg:/system/virtualbox/virtualbox-additions

I have tried forcing it manually using the "displays" widget in MATE (preferences -> system ->displays). When I select "1920x1080" and hit "apply" it appears to freeze until I hit the red "X". It doesn't completely freeze (I can pull down the list of displays and pull it out), it just seems to simply never finish the "apply" operation.

On the GUI for the VM itself, it seems to see the different modes available. The modes under View -> "Virtual Screen 1" are not greyed out, but they don't change when I click them.

It seems that things are working on the virtualbox end (the guest additions communicate well enough to tell the GUI that those modes are available), but not on the hipster end.

This is a new VM, which I've updated using "pkg update".

This is the only OS I've had this problem on (usually I can brute force a 1920x1080 resolution by adding a custom xorg.conf and using VBoxManage), any help or insight would be appreciated

Thank you!
