Yes, it's certainly possible that OI's i915 driver does not
support your Intel graphics, but up-thread you stated on one attempt
you were able to get X windows running except without working mouse.
Indeed. It *did* appear that way. :-)
It was my *initial* attempt. I've been using a particular procedure
for years to discover if I need to tweak anything with Xorg prior to
firing off a DE;
Xorg -configure
edit the emitted xorg.conf.new
test with:
Xorg -config /path/to/xorg.conf.new -retro
The -retro switch gives me the grid background. But as noted I was
unable to obtain mouse/kbd. :-(
