Previous versions of OI/hipster worked just fine
but at I wanted the latest version of libreoffice
so I decided to reinstall the system. The GUI
installator could not start: something was wrong
with Xorg. Then I installed the system using the
text installer. I installed everything including
mate successfully but when I rebooted the system
failed to start Xorg (lightdm was enabled). Here
is the log file:

I cannot unistall the nvidia driver because it
depends on the xorg-something package and  this
package cannot  be uninstalled because mate_install
requires its presence! So the question is what should
I do? Any suggestions and/or help would be really
appreciated!

Hi Apostolos,

You might need to replace OI nvidia driver with one from their site [1], [2]

I use same card (but with NVIDIA driver): From 'pfexec scanpci':

Hello!

The search for drivers for the GT 730 did only show up older versions,
in the "supported products" of version 460 there is no GT 730 (and not my 1030)

You use driver version 460 for GT 730 andi it works?
Then i wold give it a try, too :-)

Greetings,
Stephan
