There have been numerous problems with wxPython in the OpenIPMI GUI, the
largest being availability everywhere. It also has not turned out to be
as robust as I would have liked. So I'm considering moving to another
GUI package. I'm looking at the following:

    * Using Python Tk. The Tk widgets are not as sophisticated as the
wxPython ones, and they do not work as smoothly cross-platform.
    * Rewriting in C++. This should give better performance, but
wxWidgets is also not an option, so cross-platform is a problem.
I could use GTK or something else like that, too, but then support
for Windows (when that happens) becomes harder.
    * Another Python GUI library (Qt, etc.).

I'm currently leaning toward Python Tk. I would still prefer wxPython,
it is a nice widget set and I think the stability issues can be worked
through. But apparently server distros don't include it.

Anyway, this is kind of a warning, and also me asking for opinions (or
even help!) on this.

Thanks,

-Corey
