I installed hp-OpenIPMI driver and hpasm package in HP ProLiant DL380 G5, it
provides IPMI driver through OpenIPMI. I used ipmitool to try out the ipmi
functions, however I found out HP BMC does not implements some commands in
IPMI, such as read/set sensor thresholds. But its own iLO2 interface can
provides thresholds values. Another issue is that ipmitool always reports
fan status as lower non-critical while iLO2 reports status OK. So my
questions are that those are bugs in openIPMI driver or that HP BMC does not
provide IPMI values correctly, another question is that is there any other
way to get right thresholds and status using IPMI in HP ProLiant 300 series
server ?

Best Regard
Jason
