More digging and I found the sample script in the openipmi source directory - never would have thought to look there. Anyhow when I run the sample script is simply blows up with "open failed" and no hint why or any explanation of how to run it. Is this code even valid? Would it make any sense to distribute this code with the perl module rpm and add some additional info on how to run it? -mark
