I have been pulling forward patches for handling support for IPMI serial interfaces, and I think it's not really necessary any more. So unless there is major protest, as of kernel version 4.1 I am no longer supporting this function.
The required changes for the way it is currently implemented will never get into kernel.org, as far as I can tell. It could be rewritten as a line discipline type interface with the loss of panic time functionality, but I don't think anyone is using these interfaces any more so I'm guessing it's not worth it. -corey ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One dashboard for servers and applications across Physical-Virtual-Cloud Widest out-of-the-box monitoring support with 50+ applications Performance metrics, stats and reports that give you Actionable Insights Deep dive visibility with transaction tracing using APM Insight. http://ad.doubleclick.net/ddm/clk/290420510;117567292;y _______________________________________________ Openipmi-developer mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openipmi-developer
