I should clarify my last message. By "didn't think to check" I mean when TBird crashed I didn't go looking through all the folders to see if they were intact - I have too many mail accounts with too many folders to be doing that every time). However it appears that the two "emptyings" occurred at two different days and times and were at least close to the day and time of a TBird crash.
It has been close to 24 hours since I installed SUN JDK (6 not 7) and uninstalled the open JDK and so far none of the apps have crashed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of OpenJDK, which is subscribed to openjdk-6 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/899294 Title: JRE SIGSEGV randonly crashing TBird, Vuze etc. Status in “openjdk-6” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Beginning approximately 10 days ago I started experiencing random crashes of Thunderbird, Vuze and Firefox. There does not have to be any user interaction for the app to crash, e.g. TBird is minimized to a panel and just suddenly disappears. I do not know how to reliably reproduce this but it is happening frequently. A typical crash log is attached but the basic info is: # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x00007f577c126626, pid=2347, tid=140013617911552 # # JRE version: 6.0_20-b20 # Java VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (19.0-b09 mixed mode linux-amd64 compressed oops) # Derivative: IcedTea6 1.9.10 # Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, package 6b20-1.9.10-0ubuntu1~10.04.2 # Problematic frame: # V [libjvm.so+0x54c626] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-6/+bug/899294/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~openjdk Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~openjdk More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
