There were two issues addressed here:
   * fixed a boolean check before we call to make the window resizable (order 
of operations issue)
   * changed the function used to mark the window resizable (to 
gtk_window_set_resizable())

gtk_window_set_has_resize_grip() is only GTK3, and has a deprecated tag there, 
so it is odd that it was used.

The test application works properly now, but I need to think about and perform 
more testing before I push this.
