This one is still targeted to 9, and so far as I can tell that has always been the case. The "release team" for the whole JDK 9 release have allowed that bugs that existed
in 8 GA may be deferred out of 9 if there is not time to fix them.
The logic behind that is (I think) that it is not a regression that stops you moving
from 8 to 9 if it already existed since 8 GA.
This one is more subtle than that .. it did not start to manifest until versions
of MacOS later than any available when 8 GA shipped.

Regardless of labels it is clear that this is one that needs to be addressed.
