Hi With this email I'd like to give the current state for the 2.12 release.
We've been working hard on making the tests pass in several browsers. They pass in FireFox 10, Chrome 17, IE 8, and Safari 5.1.2. We still have failing tests in IE 9, this is tracked by this GitHub issue [1]. Yesterday night I moved a few tickets outside the 2.12 milestone. I did that because I don't want to take the risk to break tests again. At this stage I am conservative and favoring stability. Here are the issues I actually moved out of 2.12: #67 Adding click xy and box center xy to featureselected listener argument. #248 Allow map and layer coordinates to be provided as latitude and longitude. #233 Treat UI and non-UI controls differently #207 Change Protocol/Script registry to object #224 Move some touch logic to the `handler` base class. #187 Build: Allow import directories. #53 Call moveTo on the marker object instead of the icon. Please speak up if you think these issues should really be addressed in 2.12. I'd need solid arguments to be convinced :-) The remaining open issues with the 2.12 milestone are available at [2]. These issues are related to tests, doc, builds, and translations. There's also the UTFGrid pull request. I think it makes sense to have this feature in 2.12. This would be a great addition, and, as a completely new feature, we know it won't break other parts of OpenLayers. Also, we still have Trac tickets in the 2.12 milestone. I plan to create a 2.13 milestone in Trac and move these tickets to this milestone. Any questions or comments are very welcome! Thanks.
