We did notice your bug report. Thank you for the very good test case! I could easily reproduce the issue using the example you've provided. Andreas and I talked about the issue. Just like you we think this is a bug in FF that triggers because of the percentage-based tile positioning. Our feeling is that it would be hard to fix it in OpenLayers, if at all possible. That's just a feeling, I agree that it would be worth investigating more. I also think we should try to reproduce the issue outside OpenLayers, and report the bug to the FF team. I'll try to investigate more, and will welcome help with that.

Thanks to you and Andreas for having looked into the issue. I had no big expectations that this problem could be solved easily, but you never know. A workaround for the Chrome bug has been found by jorix for example ([1])! :-)

There is already a bug report for a very similar Firefox bug: [2] which has a link to a CSS transform scale test page [3]. This page inspired my to create a similar test case for OL btw. I have just added a comment to this bug, but I'm aware that this bug is nearly 3 years old already and may not be solved any time soon.

Regards, Roald
