Tried
{numZoomLevels: 5,isBaseLayer: true, maxExtent: maxBounds, maxResolution:
0.144562617504052}
vs
{numZoomLevels: 5,isBaseLayer: true} , {maxExtent: maxBounds, maxResolution:
0.144562617504052}
and only difference in resulting map was that map itself was shrunk in the
vertical direction with about a half inch white border top and bottom. Geo
objects were still plotted incorrectly.
Note that the images I'm using have no border. When displayed with
openlayers in my environment, they are rendered to take up almost the entire
browser frame with a very small border top and bottom.
Finally, if an issue with the parameter string, I would have expected the
same behavior with my south america map which shows the same objects plotted
correctly. One other piece of information - South America chart looks the
same as the image itself, North America and World look stretched
horizontally.
Thanks for the heads up, did allow me to discover an error in my
maxResolution parameter that I added in an attempt to fix.
