The code you posted doesn't make any sense, you need to create an *instance* of
OpenLayers.SOSClient.
Just copy/paste the example.
var sos = new OpenLayers.SOSClient({map: map, url:
'http://v-swe.uni-muenster.de:8080/WeatherSOS/sos?'});
