Yes. I think part of the problem is terminology. There are two ways to forward an operation, one is by proxying and one is by chaining. The former should be transparent to receiving DSA. That latter is never transparent to the receiving DSA as it relies on cooperating DSAs. The chain overlay, at least as released, does proxying, not chaining, and is really misnamed. It would be better called a proxy overlay, or if extended to also support chaining, called a forward overlay. Kurt
