It's a pretty interesting approach. As it opens some nice opportunities
additionally to what you get with the plain nss-ldapd. (E.g. offline
capabilities through pcache or syncrepl).

On the other hand it is pretty complex to create a working setup for users
used to nss_ldap/nss-ldapd's configuration.
Most of the required slapd config is boilerplate though. The actual
nss-specific configuration is much simpler.
Have you got a test script and/or test data that we can add here?
No, not yet. I just configured it against my local LDAP server here for
experimenting with it and started fixing the bugs that fell out of that. :)
