Per https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-data-server/issues/99:

 Please do not set LDAP_VENDOR_VERSION to 0, when compiling from git/master,
but use reasonable default: a number bigger or equal to 20000.  Like 20500 for
LDAP 2.5.
