I have a server using LDBM and in a transitional fase I want to run a new slapd instance on the server with BDB and I thought I could use syncrepl to keep these in sync. I understand that syncrepl only works with BDB and HDB but the documentation led me to believe that this is only on the consumer. Is this a wrong assumption?
Yes, wrong, you have it backwards. The consumer will work with back-ldbm as well as back-bdb/hdb. The provider in 2.2 only works with back-bdb/hdb.
