Any of the db_ utilities with -V will tell you the version:
msporleder$ ./db_stat -V
Berkeley DB 4.5.20: (September 20, 2006)
msporleder$ ./db_checkpoint -V
Berkeley DB 4.5.20: (September 20, 2006)
