I'm gonna mark this as "won't fix" since this is a performance issue
cause by formatting. Upgrading to a beta release with newer libraries
might help.

openSuse 12.3
KDE 4.10.5
1. Go live with a song
2. Switch from maybe vers to chorus (or any other switch inside a song)
3. The change need mostly 1 second to refresh the previev and the showing
slide
The more text a slide has, the more is the delay.
If I have only one word in a slide, there is nearly no delay in the switch.
Example Song for testing: (Switch to R1 or S1 with heveay dely. Switch to A1
goes quickly)
