Scheduling new event results in incorrect date/time
---------------------------------------------------
Key: OPENMEETINGS-143
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENMEETINGS-143
Project: Openmeetings
Issue Type: Bug
Components: SOAP/REST API
Affects Versions: 2.0 Apache Incubator Release
Environment: Gentoo Linux 64bit with sun-jdk-1.6.0.31 & ant-1.8.1 &
postgresql-9.1, openmeetings SVN rev 1310803
Reporter: adeel nazir
I've noticed that whenever I try to schedule an event, it is created 24 hours
earlier rather than the specified date. For example, if create an event on the
18th of April, the invite and displayed scheduled event is shown on the 17th of
April, a full day prior. The server has its timezone set to PDT (GMT-8) while
my user account is set to EDT (GMT-5). I've verified that postgresql is set to
having a timezone of GMT-8, and that the system time is correct.
Additionally, I've noticed that the Calender UI shows the time of the events in
the server timezone, rather than the user timezone; it would be better to show
the events in the local timezone of the user viewing the calendar.
This is an SVN build of openmeetings, using revision 1310803.
