Hi folks, Maxim Ivanchenko (in CC, he is a new guy around) asked me what could be done in the project right now. Here is my attempt to summarize what happens. Feel free to share your ideas.
Few tasks from Sebastian: - Releasing packages ( an OpenMeetings package will bring the most, releasing plugins will bring also a boost ) - Releasing information of the Typo3 integration will bring more requests ( similar to Joomla ) - Releasing information about the SIP integration (aaf: it took three months for Timur to learn things and do the first integration, we need to make it easier ) More things to be done: - fixing known bugs, or simply checking if they are non-reproducible; - adopting iphone-like interface for teambox.com integration; - improving video widgets (adding sound, bandwidth and mic controls, re-thinking and optimizing other controls and indicators); - complementing SIP integration with video gateway (that's likely good task for Timur); - fixing build system to meet Apache requirements (Maxim S. told me this is mostly done); - proper traffic tunnelling (images and screensharing now use 5080 port, SIP applet likely uses different ports as well, while anything should be happy with 80 port); - performance: getting rid of Apache httpd to improve openmeetings hosting performance (Apache eats tons os megabytes - proper jetty configuration can be done as a part of tunelling task); - performance: java memory profiling for Openmeetings - memory costs a lot on virtual servers; - performance: maybe we can set up dedicated OpenOffice service, so we won't need to have one for each openmeetings installation; in this case we can monitor document conversion errors and stream them to Apache OpenOffice project; - improving openmeetings hosting performance (first, we need to get rid from Apache, who eats tons os megabytes - proper jetty configuration can be done as a part of tunelling task) - plugging in google widgets.
