Jyothivas is right. I only want to add one more comment about the mail. You can switch off emails by setting the configuration properties "sendEmailAtRegister" and "sendEmailWithVerficationCode" to 0.
The configuration properties can either be editted in the Openmeetings interface at: Administration -> Configuration or directly in the database in table "configuration".
