Your server did not even startup yet. You try to connect to the server
before it even has completed the startup.
The log message when the service startup is completed look like:

DEBUG 04-27 10:26:40.640 EmoticonsManager.java 4281 53
org.openmeetings.app.remo
te.red5.EmoticonsManager [Launcher:/openmeetings] - ##### loadEmot
completed

I don't know why the process hangs in your case, maybe the connection to the
database is still trying to connect to and is waiting for a timeout.
