Hi Amir, if you have a root user you should be able to install it. Cpanel has nothing to do with OpenMeetings, there is no integration of OpenMeetings into Cpanel available.
It will use more ports then only 80. See: http://incubator.apache.org/openmeetings/PortSettings.html for a full list. For general installation instructions you should use: http://incubator.apache.org/openmeetings/installation.html and http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OPENMEETINGS/Tutorials+related+to+OpenMeetings here are also users on this list that did install on CentOS. I think we also have done a number of installations on CentOS. However the most of the tutorials refer to installation on Debian or Ubuntu. For bandwidth calculation you can see some past discussions here: http://markmail.org/search/?q=openmeetings%20bandwidth%20per%20user%20calculation or http://markmail.org/search/?q=openmeetings+hardware+simultaneous or http://markmail.org/search/?q=openmeetings+hardware+concurrent Sebastian 2012/9/19 Amir Reza Latif <[email protected]>: > Hello there, > > We are a small company willing to move from WizIQ online conferencing > system to OpemMeetings. > > We have a dedicated server in Germany running CentOs and Cpanel. > > Here are the questions we have: > > 1- Can we run this system on port 80 of Http or we need to buy another > server for this? > > 2- Can it be easily installed on CentOs and Cpanel or does it need > another operating system? > > 3- Our server is running a Quad Core Intel Core i7-920 with 24 GB of > RAM with 100 Mb/s bandwidth. > Is there any formula we can use it to estimate the capacity of the > system for running simultaneous classes? > > 4- Is there any documentation and help guidelines that we can use for > installation? > > Best Regards, -- Sebastian Wagner https://twitter.com/#!/dead_lock http://www.webbase-design.de http://www.wagner-sebastian.com [email protected]
