Thanks ! The switch seems to be what causes all the misery. I actually get a stream of trouble just by killing wpa_supplicant after it has associated with an AP doing WPA. Now the question is whether this is triggered by WPA or by wpa_supplicant. I guess I'll have a look at all the failing ioctls first. If so much goes wrong, that can't be healthy. - Werner
