It seems to be one of those areas where you scratch a little and mysteries emerge ... I'm now trying to figure out how to turn off things properly at the lowest level and then I'll see if the respective mechanisms we have in sysfs, suspend, etc., get this right, too. So hopefully there will be some answers in the next days. - Werner
