Sorry, I don't understand. It sounds like you're suggesting that the link shows why it would be bad to "allow your users to take the countless number of existing libraries that can do useful things with iterators and apply them to your ObjectStreams", but I don't understand why... Perhaps you were saying that someone already implemented an Iterator over InputStreams and so there's no need for OpenNLP to do that? But the implementation linked above only works for InputStreams not ObjectStreams, so I guess that can't be what you were saying...
