I'm using v2c for everything except when I find something that requires v1 to work properly, like our Liebert UPS. Before we upgraded the PIX firewalls to the ASAs, (which was a couple of fresh opennms installs ago) I had forced them to v1.
My opennms install is a work in progress that I don't get a lot of time to work on, so I have done almost zero customization.
