Anyway I'd like to understand if some limitations are in place yet especially that you cannot include svn icons in svg frame!
I created a simple SVG drawing (attached) in Inkscape and added it as an icon in map.properties. Using Firefox 3.0b5 on Leopard, setting that icon for a node makes the node's icon effectively invisible, leaving only the name and the status dot visible for that node.
I'm looking forward the performances.
The performance is quite acceptable on a map with just three nodes when using Firefox 3.0b5 on Leopard. With 20 or 100 nodes performance is not as good, but I think it is still OK.
I tried loading the map in Safari 3.1 on Leopard. It actually loaded the map controller and let me choose to open a map. The map background and nodes rendered very briefly, but after less than a second both the map and the controller disappeared, replaced with blank white space.
The page is missing that would let one choose an initial map and canvas size. I imagine this was removed for a reason, but the auto- selected size if quite large (about 1380x1040).
I saw one other issue, which is probably a Firefox issue not related to the maps code: After performing a menu operation, text in the controller frame does not refresh properly until the browser window is scrolled.
