I'm saddish to read this posting. I think tomcat is one of the most popular applicationserver with good documentation and support. I have installed a large installation of opennms and i run a dedicated tomcat-server which has not only opennms running. I have installed the JasperServer, OpenFire and OpenNMS and that works very good. Additional i have configured Apache2 + mod_jk2 for some other OpenNMS tools which running in PHP5 and the SSL-Features. I don`t know if it works with an jetty only environment, but i will not stop to learn ;) The second thing is, the most beginners learn on tomcat, so it is a little bit easier to start development in opennms. All beginners tutorials in Spring, JSP or anything else are based on typical java +eclipse+tomcat environments. But on the other side, moving into an separate package is a good way to keep the installation small and clean. I hope the decision switch to jetty-only-distribution do not impact the tomcat compatibility. This posting should only represent the thoughts while i reading "Stop distribution the non-Jetty webapp ..." ;) Nice evening - rt -- Ronny Trommer (Germany) Web: http://www.open-factory.org IRC: irc.freenode.org - #opennms PGP key: 46AD 1D66 1898 0264 D6B8 E241 FED7 B3C8 AB34 7382 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
