Cool.  Would you mind creating an enhancement bug so that we can track  
this?  Also, before we can merge it, you'll need to execute the

The Node class is the way it is because the web UI has not yet been  
updated to use the strong object model that was added OpenNMS proper  
in the 1.3 release.

You might have a look at recent trunk, where there's a nice RESTful  
interface that does expose both foreignSource and foreignId.  A lot  
(possibly all) of future web UI development will be done on top of  
that interface.
