I've not been aware about that fact, as I am using the debian packages
maintained by: Maintainer: Jeff Gehlbach <je...@opennms.org>

hm, could you forward my request to adpot the new init script in the
upcomming 1.6.2 debian packages to th maintainer :-) ?   Thx!
