As those spikes are rather small and are reoccuring in regular time intervals I 
suppose there are routing updates like from OSPF. This is a totally normal 
graph. If you want to track it down I would suppose to make network traces 
using wireshark.

I am trying to find out whats the problem with some abnormal spikes in
my rrd graphs (see peaks.PNG).

I understand that there are happening "false-positive" COUNTER wraps
when restarting an applikation or a switch.

But those up/down peaks are really abnormal, in addition i can approve
this looking at our MRTG.

I am guessing about some wrong accumulation, but debugging this is like
looking for a needle in a haystack.
