I've just this week been trying to get my first OpenNMS installation up and running to see what it can do for us.
I've just spent a while bugging the IRC denizens with a problem I had importing new MIB events, following http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Converting_MIBs_Using_mib2opennms and it turned out (thanks McFly, joed) to be a RTsmallprintintheFM - keeping the default event file at the end of the list. Apparently this is a common pitfall for newcomers. I edited the wiki to make it a little more prominent, but perhaps it would be worth adding as a comment in the file itself, right there where people need to know it. Is only that last file significant, or should these last three lines stay put? <!-- these default events must remain the last in this file --> <event-file>events/Standard.events.xml</event-file> <event-file>events/Translator.default.events.xml</event-file> <event-file>events/default.events.xml</event-file> </events> -jmb ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by Make an app they can't live without Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge http://p.sf.net/sfu/RIM-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Please read the OpenNMS Mailing List FAQ: http://www.opennms.org/index.php/Mailing_List_FAQ opennms-devel mailing list To *unsubscribe* or change your subscription options, see the bottom of this page: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/opennms-devel
