You did answer this, thanks. I must have accidentally double-posted this due
to misunderstanding the instructions when I first joined this list.
Thank you for your pointer to the opennms-datasources.xml file.
The two user/pass combinations for the opennms and opennms-admin datasources
were both correct.
However, when I compared the CentOS installation that started with 1.8 with
the installation on RHEL that started a few versions prior, I noticed that
the DS URL for the opennms-admin connection was different. I changed the URL
used for the datasource "opennms-admin" from
"jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/opennms" to
"jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/template1" and that did the trick.
All is well now. I was going to suggest to document this issue in the
upgrade instructions, but it seems that I am the only person who ever had
this issue. It must have something to do with the specific versions that I
started with and upgraded through, so it doesn't seem to be a big deal.
