Are you running other things on the same server or do you have enough
jrb data to thresh the OS cache? Also, what java version are you using?
I recently noticed a huge speed improvement from switching from a Sun
1.5 to the current stock Centos 1.6 openjdk - not sure exactly why there
was such a big difference.
