This doesn't appear to be a development question, at least without enough detail to discuss a possible problem in the code. Please post to opennms-discuss.
Also, OpenNMS generates logs to aid in troubleshooting--please use them and please post appropriate log excerpts when reporting problems. You can even increase the level up to DEBUG (and maybe even TRACE) to get more detail. Stating "Foo doesn't work" with little additional context is difficult to diagnose unless someone else has run in your exact same problem.
